3 sacks and 8 tackles, a sack last week. surprising pass rush from a nose tackle
Rather than allowing Bryce Young to step up and extend plays, McNeill's pressure attacked the quarterback from the middle. Against a mobile QB, collapsing the pocket vertically can be more effective than simply trying to beat the tackles around the edge.
2 sacks, quiet but useful. lions are 2-1.
McNeill is the kind of interior player who changes the geometry for an offense. He can hold the run, push the pocket and keep the middle from becoming an easy escape route.
Strengths: Power, leverage, run-defense consistency and growing pocket push make him a high-impact interior defender.
Weaknesses: His lateral range is not elite, and quick tempo can limit his influence when he cannot rotate regularly.
