Nelson is the dependable utility edge in a deep group. He can give the rush rotation functional snaps and stays valuable when the ball is not coming his way because of his special-teams work.
Strengths: 2.5 preseason sacks, initial-53 role, special-teams production, and clear rotational fit.
Weaknesses: Third on the depth chart behind Diaby, with fewer premium pass-rush opportunities than the higher-profile edges.
