Elliss is a valued starting piece because the Patriots cannot afford soft spots at linebacker. He gives the defense a capable first wave, and his availability matters with only a few developing options behind the starters.
Strengths: Frontline role, useful range and a place in the defense's trusted core.
Weaknesses: Depth concerns at the position place extra pressure on consistent week-to-week play.
