McDonald has carved out a spot in a room where the bottom of the depth chart is never handed out. The next step is turning that roster security into a few more defensive snaps without sacrificing special-teams dependability.
Strengths: Returning roster experience, initial-53 retention, and special-teams-oriented depth value.
Weaknesses: Limited public defensive production and a depth-chart path behind Bolton and Tranquill.
