Smith is Philadelphia's most trustworthy receiver right now, and the Eagles should be treating him like a true WR1 rather than merely one of several weapons.

Calling DeVonta Smith a “No. 2 receiver” doesn't fit anymore. Put him on a team without another star WR and he'd have a legitimate shot at 1,400 yards.

Smith is no longer the other star; he is the proven center of this receiving room. His routes, body control and sideline craft make him a natural go-to target when the coverage gets tight. A healthy Smith gives the Eagles both elite production and a quiet standard for a suddenly very new group.

Strengths: Precise route running, speed, body control and outstanding contested/sideline catch ability. He can win from multiple alignments and has a long record of producing in high-leverage games.

Weaknesses: His lean frame means physical coverage and accumulated hits always deserve attention. Philadelphia needs the new depth to help prevent defenses from leaning every coverage plan toward him.
