Carlies has the coverage background of a former safety and the build to grow into a modern linebacker. The rookie season showed he can start and produce; the short 2025 makes 2026 an important reset. He is exactly the kind of adaptable player a flexible defense can develop.
Strengths: Coverage instincts, athleticism, prior starting experience and ball production from college. He can match up better than many traditional linebackers in space.
