McGowan is a late-round rookie who plays like he knows every carry is an audition. The Colts have highlighted his physicality in preseason, and his college record shows he can handle a real workload. Behind Taylor and Giddens, his immediate value is competition, special teams and patient development.
Strengths: Physical downhill temperament, solid build and recent productive college work. He has already shown an eagerness to learn from Taylor and bring energy when preseason opportunities arrive.
Weaknesses: He has not taken an NFL regular-season snap, and his path to offensive touches is crowded. Pass protection, route detail and special-teams reliability will determine how quickly he can dress on game days.
