Martin earned this roster spot the hard way: keep making a play, block, cover kicks and give the staff no reason to cut you. He brings more professional polish than a typical camp flyer after his UFL production. Detroit's thin four-receiver initial group gives him a legitimate chance to stay involved.
Strengths: Physical effort, special-teams value and evidence of production in the UFL. He can help in multiple phases and has shown enough camp separation to make the offense take notice.
Weaknesses: He is behind elite target earners and has little margin for a quiet stretch. He must keep translating summer playmaking to real-game assignment precision.
