huge loss for the patriots. high ankle sprain in the opener and he's on ir until at least week 6. 3 catches before he got hurt so there's nothing to really judge. still one of the most physical receivers around when healthy, and Maye really needs him with how bad that offense looks.

AJ Brown Scouting Report (4)
New England's marquee offseason addition was held quiet before exiting in the third quarter with an ankle injury.
Brown's tenure in New England will prove frustrating overall as recurring nagging injuries and Mike Vrabel's run-heavy scheme limit his upside.
Brown changes the geometry of this offense. He can win through strength at the catch point, work the intermediate middle and make defenders respect the vertical route, which gives Maye answers before the snap and after it.
Strengths: Physical route finishing, contested-catch power, run-after-catch ability and coverage-dictating presence.
Weaknesses: As a high-volume focal point, he will see rolled coverage and has to stay patient when opponents make others beat them.
Tremendous hands, strong-bodied receiver with occasional diva tendencies.
Strengths: Shows hands late in catch, physical
Weaknesses: Can lack mental toughness
