Cowing can absolutely fly, and the 83-yard punt-return touchdown against the Chargers was a nice reminder after he lost all of last season to a hamstring injury. We saw little flashes as a rookie too, including a 41-yard catch, but four career receptions is still four career receptions. I like the speed, the return value and the way he can stress a defense horizontally or vertically. I just need to see him stay healthy, secure the ball and become more than an occasional gadget player. He is a five right now, with a real chance to climb if the preseason burst carries into meaningful games.
Strengths: Cowing has genuine 4.38 speed, quick acceleration and the open-field vision to create as a returner. His 4,477 college receiving yards also show that he was much more than a track athlete before reaching the NFL.
Weaknesses: A torn hamstring and setbacks wiped out his entire 2025 season, while his NFL receiving sample is only four catches. His smaller frame limits some matchups, and two rookie fumbles make ball security another area that has to improve.
