George Kittle Scouting Report (3)
32 and still a beast. 3 tds already and 6 for 82 with 2 tds vs arizona. blocks like a tackle and still makes defenders miss. niners are 3-0 and he's a big part of it.
Kittle was still doing Kittle things last season. He caught 57 passes for 628 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games, blocked like an extra lineman and turned routine catches into a wrestling match for defensive backs. What I love is that the wild playing style can hide how smart he is. He knows exactly when to sit down against zone, sells the block before slipping into a route and understands how to use a defender's leverage against him. The Achilles tear in January is the reason I cannot just pencil him in for his usual elite grade. His return to practice in August is a great sign, but we still need to see the old burst and a normal workload in real games. For now he is an eight, with plenty of room to move back up.
Strengths: Kittle is a genuine two-phase tight end. He blocks with leverage, urgency and enough power to function as an extra lineman, then threatens linebackers up the seam and runs through contact after the catch. His 11.0 yards per reception and seven touchdowns in 2025 show that the explosiveness and scoring impact were present before the injury.
Weaknesses: The surgically repaired Achilles is the central limitation entering 2026 and could affect both acceleration and the workload he can safely carry. His physical style has also contributed to repeated absences over his career. San Francisco may need to pace his snaps rather than asking him to block and run routes with his usual abandon every week.
