Reed is database-active safety depth in a room led by Byard and Woodson. The near-term assignment is being clean and available in coverage and on teams if injuries force the Patriots to reach into the reserve group.
Strengths: Active depth status and opportunity to contribute in a secondary that values versatility.
Weaknesses: No public evidence of a prominent current role behind the established starters.
