Gaines has become one of those useful line-room players coaches trust because he will do whatever is asked. The late-2025 starts matter, as does his ability to line up at fullback or contribute on special teams. He still has to establish one primary offensive position, but versatility keeps his value real.
Strengths: Excellent role flexibility, full-season 2025 availability and five meaningful late-year starts. He has rebounded well from the 2023 knee injury and brings special-teams utility.
Weaknesses: He has not yet locked down a full-time starting position, and his career began with a lost rookie year. He must show that utility is supported by high-level blocking, not just availability.
