Crawford is a project worth watching because the athletic energy is obvious and safety depth charts always reward players who can cover kicks. He does not need to be rushed into a glamorous role. Getting healthy, becoming automatic on special teams and sharpening his safety reads would be a very good second-year outcome.
Strengths: Young legs, athletic versatility and a profile built for coverage units. His college background gives him experience adapting to different environments, and he has the temperament to chase and compete.
Weaknesses: He is still a late-round player with limited NFL defensive evidence, and the 2025 ankle injury paused his momentum. His route recognition, angles and durability must improve before a regular defensive role is realistic.
