back from his third acl surgery and looked great in his first game, 18 for 25 and 256 yds. one early pick but he settled in and hit London for 68 and 40 yard plays late. durability is obviously the big question but when he's out there he's legit. falcons really needed this.

Atlanta's offense just became relevant again. Penix doesn't need to be spectacular when Bijan and London are doing this.

Penix has the arm talent to make every level of the field live, but his 2026 story begins with the ACL recovery. Atlanta is right not to rush him. Once cleared, he needs reps to sharpen timing and prove the body can hold up.

Strengths: Arm strength, aggressive downfield mindset, left-handed throwing talent, and developmental upside.

Weaknesses: ACL rehabilitation limits early availability, and he needs more healthy NFL reps before the projection becomes production.
