he's been good when he's out there, he just keeps getting hurt which is annoying. escapes pressure like crazy and makes throws that make you go wow. hamstring is a concern tho. bears need him healthy to go anywhere.

#19
JJ McCarthy
78/100- College
- Michigan
- Jersey
- 18
- Height (in)
- 75
- Weight (lb)
- 219
- Experience (years)
- 3
Drafted 10th overall by the Vikings in 2024.
Full player profile and scouting reports →Latest scouting report
McCarthy did not win this summer's competition, but that does not erase the development value of a full year in the system. The next priority is getting his ankle right, continuing to sharpen the details and being ready if the season calls. The flashes in camp were real; the timing is simply Murray's for now.
Strengths: Young passer with growing command of Minnesota's concepts, a competitive approach and enough accuracy to make difficult intermediate throws. Scheme familiarity gives him a real developmental advantage within this room.
Weaknesses: The current depth-chart outcome and ankle injury limit his immediate path. He needs health and sustained clean reps to turn camp flashes into a reliable answer against live NFL defenses.
#20
Matthew Stafford

- 18

Full player profile and scouting reports →Latest scouting report
6 picks already and only 6 tds. 51 throws last week is way too many, the arm is still there at 38 but this offense is asking too much of him
#21
Drake Maye
77/100- College
- North Carolina
- Jersey
- 10
- Height (in)
- 76
- Weight (lb)
- 225

- 3
Led the Patriots to a Super Bowl appearance in just his second season.
Full player profile and scouting reports →Latest scouting report
7 picks to 4 tds is rough and he's been sacked 10 times. 3 tds last week was nice but overall he's been a mess, hype is a little much right now
#22
Tyler Shough

throws it a ton and puts up numbers, 4 tds in the loss to vegas. but he lost two fumbles and takes too many sacks. fun to watch tho, has a big arm and isn't scared.
#23
Ty Simpson
77/100- College
- Alabama
- Jersey
- 15
- Height (in)
- 73
- Weight (lb)
- 211
- Experience (years)
- 0
Was named second-team All-SEC in 2025.
Full player profile and scouting reports →Latest scouting report
Simpson landed in about as healthy a rookie situation as a quarterback could want: Stafford is still the starter, McVay is teaching the details, and Bennett is taking the immediate pressure of being the only backup. His job is not to force the timeline; it is to turn his college aggression and ball security into command of an NFL offense.
Strengths: Productive, poised college starter with demonstrated downfield timing and strong turnover avoidance. His big-time-throw profile gives him the attacking element a future starter needs, and he has enough mobility to help concepts stay alive.
Weaknesses: The Rams system asks for a lot verbally and mentally, and the rookie still needs repetitions to own it rather than recite it. The backup competition shows that readiness for a one-game emergency role is not settled yet.
#24
Joe Flacco
76/100- College
- Delaware
- Jersey
- 16
- Height (in)
- 78
- Weight (lb)
- 245
- Experience (years)
- 19
Named to his first Pro Bowl in 2025 at age 40.
Full player profile and scouting reports →Latest scouting report
Flacco was a lot better than anybody had a right to expect after the Bengals picked him up last year. In six starts for Cincinnati he threw 13 touchdowns with only four picks and kept the offense functional while Burrow was out. At 41, he is basically a statue and the full-season numbers were dragged down by a rough Cleveland stint, but the arm is absolutely still there. I have him at a seven because that is premium backup quarterback play. You do not want him taking 17 games of hits, but you can trust him to step in, attack downfield and win a few games if Burrow misses time.
Strengths: Flacco still has the arm to drive deep outs and punish single-high coverage, and 18 NFL seasons have given him a calm answer for nearly every pressure look. He is comfortable running a vertical passing game and does not shrink from tight-window throws.
Weaknesses: He offers almost nothing as a runner and needs a clean launch point. Age has reduced his ability to escape or reset when the pocket caves in, and his aggressive downfield mindset can produce turnover clusters when protection is poor.
#25
Justin Fields
75/100- College
- Ohio State
- Jersey
- 6
- Height (in)
- 75
- Weight (lb)
- 227
- Experience (years)
- 6
Drafted by the Bears in the first round of the 2021 draft.
Full player profile and scouting reports →Latest scouting report
Fields is a luxury backup because he can force defenses to account for the quarterback as a runner. His most valuable Kansas City version is decisive: use the speed, take the simple throw and let the system create the harder answers.
Strengths: Starting experience, elite quarterback rushing history, physical talent, and clear No. 2 role.
Weaknesses: Passing consistency remains the swing skill, and he will have limited first-team reps behind Mahomes.
#26
Daniel Jones
75/100- College
- Duke
- Jersey
- 17
- Height (in)
- 77
- Weight (lb)
- 230
- Experience (years)
- 8
Originally committed to Princeton before walking on at Duke.

3 tds and 4 picks, 143 yards last week. offense goes nowhere unless Jonathan Taylor does it all
#27
Baker Mayfield
75/100- College
- Oklahoma
- Jersey
- 6
- Height (in)
- 73
- Weight (lb)
- 215
- Experience (years)
- 9
Drafted by the Browns with the first overall pick in 2018.
Full player profile and scouting reports →Latest scouting report
13 sacks in 3 games is brutal and now he's out with the thumb. bucs are 0-3. gutsy scrappy qb but nothing is working right now. hope he's back soon and the line gets it together.
#28
Kyler Murray
74/100- College

- Jersey
- 1

- 70

- 207
- Experience (years)
- 8

team is 4-0 but he's not the reason. 1 td in 3 games, 27 of 37 last week was fine but its a game manager role
#29
Tua Tagovailoa

- 1
- Height (in)
- 73
- Weight (lb)
- 225
- Experience (years)
- 7
Led the NFL with 4,624 passing yards in 2023.

hasn't played at all yet. got the oblique thing in practice right before the opener and by the time he was healthy Penix was back and had the job. says he's not 100% and he's fine being the backup, which is the right attitude i guess. falcons have two lefty qbs lol. accurate and quick when healthy but nobody really knows what they'll get from him.
#30
Deshaun Watson

- Clemson
- Jersey
- 4

team is 3-1 and he hasn't been turnover prone, only 2 picks. runs more than i expected, 127 yards on the ground. fine, nothing crazy
#31
Fernando Mendoza
73/100- College
- Indiana
- Jersey
- 15
- Height (in)
- 77
- Weight (lb)
- 225
- Experience (years)
- 0
Won the 2025 Heisman Trophy.
Full player profile and scouting reports →Latest scouting report
Mendoza does not need to be rushed just because he was drafted first overall. He arrives with major college production, poise and a real chance to learn how an NFL room works from Cousins and O'Connell. The useful early win is that he made the roster, got meaningful preseason reps and can keep stacking the small details.
Strengths: Accurate, productive college passer with a big-game résumé and a 6-foot-5 frame. His 2025 efficiency and touchdown-to-interception profile point to a quarterback who can make sound decisions while still attacking.
Weaknesses: The speed and disguise of NFL defenses are the next test, and the Raiders have correctly kept the expectations measured. He must continue sharpening protections, timing and post-snap answers before the job is fully his.
#32
Brock Purdy
72/100- College
- Iowa State
- Jersey
- 13
- Height (in)
- 73
- Weight (lb)
- 220

- 5
Went 5-0 as a rookie starter for the 49ers in 2022.

11 tds, 1 pick and hasn't been sacked once?? 4-0. hard to say he isn't a top 5 guy right now
