RJ Harvey Scouting Report (5)
more of a receiving back right now, 6 for 7 vs the rams. hamstring thing. not much running.
Harvey will take over Denver's backfield before midseason.
Strengths: Versatility.
Harvey brings the kind of instant acceleration that can turn a good blocking rep into a big gain. In this deep room, his value is making every touch feel dangerous.
Strengths: Burst, explosiveness, youth, change-of-pace ability and rotational upside.
Weaknesses: Touches are contested in a crowded backfield, and he must improve consistent pass protection to earn more.
Harvey already looks like one of Denver's most useful offensive chess pieces. The rushing average was ordinary, but 47 catches, five receiving touchdowns and 12 total scores as a rookie tell you he finds ways to matter. A seven makes sense for a back with burst, feel and real pass-game juice. Better first-down consistency and ball security could push him toward a genuine three-down role.
Strengths: He is explosive, instinctive and unusually productive as a receiver for a young running back. Harvey can score from multiple alignments and has shown he improves as the game and season develop.
Weaknesses: His 3.7-yard rushing average shows he still needs more consistent efficiency between the tackles. A lost fumble and a crowded backfield mean he must keep improving in protection and routine execution.
