Thomas is a special-teams fixture for Minnesota more than a true safety prospect at this point, having led the entire roster in special-teams tackles last season while barely seeing the field on defense. Getting cut and instantly stashed on the practice squad fits his history: the Vikings clearly want to keep him in the building for coverage-unit value even without a clear defensive role.
Strengths: Led the Vikings in special-teams tackles in 2025, making him one of the roster's most reliable coverage-unit contributors.
Weaknesses: Almost no defensive snaps to his name (18 in 2025) and was let go in final cuts before returning to the practice squad.
