DeVito has earned the No. 2 job by giving the room a composed, mobile option rather than a pure clipboard backup. He will buy a second chance with his feet and showed he can find an explosive play in preseason. For a contender, though, the backup's accuracy has to travel from practice to meaningful snaps.
Strengths: Comfortable operating the offense, useful scrambling ability and enough playmaking nerve to create explosives when a play extends.
Weaknesses: Preseason efficiency and ball placement were uneven. He needs to avoid letting improvised movement turn routine throws into difficult ones.
