Simpkins is a local product getting a second NFL opportunity at home in Carolina after a rookie season with the Saints that included two spot starts. His size at 6-foot-5 and 312 pounds gives the Panthers interior depth while he continues developing behind the starting guards.
Strengths: NFL starting experience already on his resume as a rookie, plus prototype guard size at 6-foot-5, 312 pounds.
Weaknesses: Still unproven as more than situational depth, having started just two of his 15 career games.
