Mesidor walks into a terrific situation. He has the college pass-rush résumé to justify the first-round pick, but he does not have to be the whole answer on day one with Mack and Tuipulotu around. That should let him attack, learn the pro run game and grow into a larger role without forcing the issue.
Strengths: High-level college sack production, first-round athletic profile and an ideal veteran mentoring setup. He should see favorable one-on-one chances in a deep edge group.
Weaknesses: He is a rookie whose run-defense consistency and NFL counter repertoire remain to be proven. The transition from college disruption to professional down-to-down discipline takes time.
