Pipkins is insurance that actually has real mileage. He knows both tackle spots, has started plenty of games and gives the Chargers a credible answer if either star tackle needs help. He is more valuable as a flexible sixth or seventh lineman than as a player forced to carry the entire edge, but that is a very important role.
Strengths: Extensive starting experience, tackle versatility, scheme fit and reliable veteran depth. He can enter a game without the protection plan completely changing.
Weaknesses: He was banged up in 2025 and has had uneven stretches as a full-time starter. He is best used as high-quality depth rather than being exposed to a season-long premier edge assignment.
