Connor McGovern Scouting Report (3)
McGovern is the kind of interior lineman who makes an offense more stable than flashy. His value is in consistent communication, reliable technique and helping the front play as one unit.
Strengths: Communication, continuity, pass protection, work habits and run-game chemistry.
Weaknesses: Limited elite movement range against the quickest interior rushers and a role transition can create adjustment pressure.
McGovern has become one of Buffalo's quiet constants. He has started every regular-season game for the Bills across the last three years, made the 2025 Pro Bowl Games and earned a four-year extension because the club trusts him to run the middle. He is not flashy, but he is smart, durable and strong enough to make the Bills' run game work on schedule. An eight fits a high-quality center whose value is felt in every clean snap and correct protection call.
Strengths: He brings durability, communication, leverage and established chemistry with the quarterback and line coach. McGovern can handle the mental load at center and has the strength to create movement in Buffalo's downhill run game.
Weaknesses: He is not an elite space athlete, so very quick interior rushers can stress his recovery. At times he needs help against long, explosive nose tackles, and his game is more dependable than spectacular.
