Kyler Gordon

When Gordon is right, he is the rare nickel who can cover, blitz and fit the run without looking out of place. Chicago built around that flexibility; the health timeline is the only real cloud.

Strengths: Nickel versatility, intelligence, run support, coverage instincts and blitz value.

Weaknesses: Recent injuries have interrupted his availability, including a 2026 PUP placement.

When healthy, Gordon is one of the defense's most useful matchup pieces. He can play the slot, trigger downhill on screens and blitz, and he has five career picks with real fumble production. A short 2025 regular season and a current PUP designation keep him from a higher grade, even though he returned for the playoffs. I have him at a seven: a quality starter whose disruptive style is valuable, provided the health cooperates.

Strengths: Gordon is instinctive near the line, explosive as a blitzer and comfortable handling the varied run-fit and coverage duties of a nickel. His ball production and tackling give Chicago a genuine playmaking dimension inside.

Weaknesses: Recent injury absences create uncertainty, and his aggressive style can leave him vulnerable to double moves or quick route combinations. He is best inside rather than matched repeatedly with the league's biggest outside receivers.
