6 picks already and only 6 tds. 51 throws last week is way too many, the arm is still there at 38 but this offense is asking too much of him

crazy that he's still doing this at 38. arm is still live and he'll throw into windows most guys wouldn't even try. rams are 1-2 and the picks pile up when he has to throw 50 times tho. still one of the smartest qbs in the league.

Stafford won't come close to repeating as MVP — the Rams offense takes a significant step backward in 2026.

Stafford is still the engine here. His arm talent lets McVay keep every layer of the field in play, and his experience makes the Rams frightening when the protection holds up. The sensible approach is to manage the veteran through a long season, not ask him to prove anything in August.

Strengths: Elite-level arm talent, field vision and willingness to attack difficult windows. He pairs years of situational experience with the ability to change a game before the defense can settle into its preferred look.

Weaknesses: At this stage, durability and the accumulated physical toll matter more than skill. He is far less dangerous if pressure forces him off his spot repeatedly, so the offense has to protect both him and its timing.
