21 tackles but no picks and 1 pass breakup. he's a lockdown guy so teams just avoid him, numbers don't show it
17 tackles and just 1 pd means qbs are avoiding him. still the best cover guy imo. broncos are 2-1.
Surtain is the rare corner who changes a game even when the box score is quiet, because quarterbacks simply decide not to test him. His length, technique and patience let Denver play aggressively around him. A 10 is warranted for a three-time All-Pro who has already been Defensive Player of the Year. The task is not finding flaws; it is keeping the supporting cast good enough to capitalize on the throws he takes away.
Strengths: He has elite coverage technique, size, route recognition and calmness at the catch point. Surtain can erase top receivers in man coverage and gives Denver enormous schematic freedom elsewhere.
Weaknesses: There is no major technical weakness; the practical challenge is the limited target volume that can make one rare mistake loom large. Denver must avoid forcing him to cover impossible space when the rest of the defense breaks down.
