Longerbeam's college tape at Rutgers, where he led the conference in passes defensed as a senior captain, earned him a sixth-round selection, and Atlanta's decision to pull him off a division opponent's practice squad suggests real belief in his coverage upside. He is still in the early stages of carving out a defensive role.
Strengths: Ball production at Rutgers (five interceptions, 26 passes defensed, led the Big Ten in PDs as a senior) and team-captain leadership traits.
Weaknesses: Limited frame at 5-foot-11, 174 pounds and no NFL regular-season game experience yet to evaluate against pro competition.
