Durant has the compact, aggressive profile to bring some edge from inside once he is back. The preseason showed the activity; the immediate job is recovering and catching up.
Strengths: College production, first-step quickness, physicality and preseason disruption.
Weaknesses: Currently on injured reserve and remains a rookie learning NFL interior technique.

Durant is an interesting developmental three-technique because he is compact, twitchy and has the Penn State production to back up the motor. Ten career sacks and 22 tackles for loss are solid interior numbers, especially with 40 starts. The downside is simple: he is a rookie on injured reserve, so there is no NFL sample and no immediate role. A five gives credit for the traits while keeping the projection grounded.
Strengths: He has quick hands, short-area burst and a relentless play style that showed up over four college seasons. Durant has enough penetration ability to develop into a useful sub-package interior rusher.
Weaknesses: His shorter frame can create length issues against NFL guards, and injured reserve delays his transition. He must prove he can anchor against the run, not just shoot gaps against college linemen.
