Tyler Bass Scouting Report (3)
Bass has already established the repeatable mechanics and big-game nerve Buffalo wants. The 2026 story is a clean health reset and a return to the consistency he showed before the injury.
Strengths: Career accuracy, strong leg, experience and mental resilience through rehab.
Weaknesses: Missed the entire 2025 season, so sustained recovery under game stress needs proving.
Bass has earned the benefit of the doubt because the career body of work is solid: 131 makes in 155 tries, 264 extra points and a 61-yard long. He has had stretches where the confidence and leg strength are obvious, including monthly and weekly league honors. The rating stays at seven because the last two seasons were less precise than his peak and kicking is unforgiving. He remains a good starter with the range to change strategy.
Strengths: He has NFL-level range, plenty of experience in Buffalo conditions and a strong overall career conversion rate. Bass can handle high-volume kicking and has proven he can deliver sustained hot stretches.
Weaknesses: Recent accuracy has been more variable than the early-career peak, and an IR stint is part of the health record. He must keep mechanics and confidence steady when the weather and pressure amplify every miss.
