Cam Lewis Scouting Report (3)
Lewis is useful because the game plan does not have to hide him in one labeled role. He can cover the slot, help at safety and make a roster through the kicking game.
Strengths: Versatility, veteran experience, nickel familiarity and special-teams value.
Weaknesses: Not a dominant one-on-one outside corner and may be deployed as a utility option rather than a fixed starter.
Lewis is a useful glue player. He has played both corner and safety, understands slot leverage and has the special-teams résumé to dress even when the secondary is healthy. Chicago does not need him to be a star; it needs him to be assignment-sound wherever a game plan creates a hole. That earns a five. The versatility is valuable, but his profile is still that of a reserve rather than a corner you build coverage around.
Strengths: He offers real position flexibility, veteran communication and special-teams utility. Lewis is comfortable in short-area coverage and can move around a game-day secondary without forcing wholesale schematic changes.
Weaknesses: His size and top-end speed can be stressed by large perimeter receivers or deep vertical routes. He has not established sustained starting-level production, so the role needs to stay tailored and rotational.
