Luke Newman

Newman is a quiet depth investment. The more spots he can competently cover, the more likely he is to become the kind of reserve Chicago needs on a 48-man game-day roster.

Strengths: Versatility, rookie game experience, special-teams contribution and coachable depth value.

Weaknesses: He has a small offensive sample and has yet to establish starter-level power or consistency.

Newman is still in the projection stage. His college tackle background gives him useful feet, but Chicago now lists him behind Jonah Jackson at right guard, where his 6-foot-3 frame and toughness make more sense. He has not shown enough regular-season work to call him a proven backup yet. I have him at a five because the position switch and depth-chart standing are encouraging, while the real test—anchoring and processing NFL interior pressure—still has to happen in games.

Strengths: He offers tackle-trained movement skills in a compact guard frame, plays with good effort and can potentially cover more than one line spot. Newman's athletic background suits pulls and second-level assignments.

Weaknesses: He lacks meaningful NFL starting evidence and must prove he can handle immediate interior power. Recognition against games and blitzes, hand placement in tight quarters and a reliable anchor remain developmental areas.
