Perryman still brings old-school linebacker value: find the ball, square up and hit. He has been around long enough to organize a front and help younger players with the details. The Chargers should use him where that strength shows most, rather than asking him to chase wide-open space all afternoon.
Strengths: Physical run defense, extensive starting experience, reliable tackling and veteran communication. He can steady the front when the game turns into a grind.
Weaknesses: At this stage, coverage range and availability are greater concerns than toughness. He is best deployed selectively, because faster spread offenses can stress his movement in space.
