Devin Bush Scouting Report (4)
15 tackles, solid starter but nothing flashy. bears are 2-1.
Bush gives Chicago a fast, experienced answer next to its returning linebackers. When he is playing downhill and trusting his keys, he can splash against both the run and passing game.
Strengths: Speed, coverage range, ball production, experience and downhill tackling.
Weaknesses: His best work has come when his reads stay clean; he needs to keep his discipline and consistency snap to snap.
Bush comes to Chicago after the best all-around season of his career: 124 tackles, three picks, two forced fumbles and two defensive touchdowns. The speed is still obvious, and he played with more confidence and anticipation in Cleveland than he had for a while. I have him at a seven because he has been inconsistent before and can overrun plays when he attacks too fast. But next to Edwards, he gives this defense real range and takeaway potential.
Strengths: He is fast, instinctive when decisive and capable of changing a game with a takeaway. Bush can blitz, chase outside runs and close throwing windows, and his 2025 production proved he can handle a full starting workload.
Weaknesses: Aggressive angles can create missed fits or open cutback lanes, while his 5-foot-11 build can be stressed by larger blockers. His prior seasons were uneven, so he must show the 2025 rebound is sustainable.
