Caldwell did exactly what you want from a rookie interior defender: he got on the field, found the ball and showed he can create a turnover. He is built to make the middle uncomfortable. With more snaps available, the next test is becoming a more consistent pass-rush presence while keeping the run-defense floor high.
Strengths: Dense power, useful rookie tackle volume, turnover production and a body type built for interior run defense. He can occupy blockers and create congestion.
Weaknesses: He produced only one sack as a rookie and still needs a fuller rush plan. A larger role will test conditioning and whether he can stay disruptive beyond early-down run situations.
