Owens provides useful veteran cover at safety. He has learned how to survive in the league through preparation, special teams and dependable role flexibility. That experience can help a secondary that is also working in younger players like Haulcy and Wohler.
Strengths: Veteran experience, special-teams utility, tackling and familiarity with multiple NFL systems. He can be a steady communicator in reserve duty.
Weaknesses: He is better viewed as dependable depth than a high-ceiling starter. His coverage range and ball production need to be supported by sound alignment and situational usage.
