Elliott is a developmental roster bet right now. His job is to make his athletic chances count on special teams, learn the calls and be ready if injuries force Chicago deeper into the room.
Strengths: Fresh opportunity, developmental upside and a clear special-teams path.
Weaknesses: Limited established NFL résumé and a crowded linebacker depth chart.

Elliott has the production profile Chicago likes: 98 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and seven sacks in his final Arizona State season. He attacks downhill and has enough special-teams background to get on the field before he is ready for a huge defensive role. A six feels right for a fifth-round rookie who can make plays but has to learn NFL route concepts and block deconstruction. The energy and blitz value give him a chance to outperform the draft slot.
Strengths: He is a productive downhill finisher with real blitz timing and a physical temperament. Elliott can tackle in traffic, has experience in multiple phases and created backfield plays at a high rate in college.
Weaknesses: Coverage processing and route-matching against NFL athletes are unproven, and he can be too eager to attack. He must learn to stack and shed larger blockers instead of trying to run around every fit.
