Benedet has the kind of size and growth curve that make him worth developing. His position flexibility is especially valuable while Chicago sorts out both tackle spots.
Strengths: Prototype size, starting experience, position flexibility and ongoing physical development.
Weaknesses: He remains a developing pro whose pass-protection consistency and foot quickness will be tested by top edge speed.

Benedet went from the practice squad to starting eight games at both tackle spots, which is a serious developmental win. He was not perfect, but the Bears could move him from right tackle to a long run on the left without the offense falling apart. At 6-foot-7 he has useful reach and enough movement for this scheme. I have him at a six because legitimate swing tackles are valuable; he still needs steadier leverage and hand timing before anyone should want him starting all year.
Strengths: His length, mobility and experience on both sides give Chicago rare flexibility from one reserve. Benedet handled an eight-start stretch, understands the offense and has the competitive toughness that helped him dominate Canadian university football.
Weaknesses: His tall frame can expose his chest and pad level to power, while quick inside counters punish late hands. One season of game action is not enough to establish consistent starter-level pass protection.
