Mike Gesicki Scouting Report (3)
2 tds in 2 games, 3 for 3 and a td vs pittsburgh. bengals use him near the goal line. great hands.
Gesicki is really a big slot receiver wearing a tight end number, and that is not an insult. He set team tight-end records with 65 catches and 665 yards in 2024, then slipped to 28 for 307 last year while missing four games with a pec injury. I have him at a six. He can still run the seam, adjust to bad throws and make defenses choose between a linebacker who cannot stay with him or a smaller defensive back. Just do not ask him to be a sixth offensive lineman. His value comes from creating passing-game mismatches, and the offense has to use him that way.
Strengths: Gesicki has rare length, body control and receiving polish for the position. He can align in the slot, threaten the seam and expand his catch radius on off-target throws, particularly against linebackers and safeties.
Weaknesses: He is a limited in-line blocker and can tip the offense toward pass when used in traditional tight formations. His 2025 production declined significantly, and the pectoral injury adds some durability uncertainty.
