Sewell has the compact, physical profile to handle interior traffic and make stops near the line. The 2025 starts were encouraging; availability is what will determine whether that promise becomes a bigger 2026 role.
Strengths: Physicality, tackle production, special-teams contribution and starting experience.
Weaknesses: Recent injuries have stalled momentum, and he needs more range and coverage consistency for a three-down job.

Sewell finally got a real defensive runway last year and looked like the physical Oregon linebacker Chicago drafted. Fifty-nine tackles in nine starts showed he can trigger downhill, take on contact and force a fumble. The torn Achilles and PUP designation make the immediate outlook tricky, and coverage remains the big test. I still give him a six because the run-defense temperament is legitimate; he just needs a healthy return and a more complete three-down profile.
Strengths: He is thickly built, decisive against the run and willing to strike blockers rather than avoid them. Sewell has special-teams value, good short-area urgency and a knack for forcing the ball loose.
Weaknesses: Achilles recovery is a major near-term concern, especially for a player reliant on downhill explosion. Coverage agility and missed-tackle consistency have to improve if he is going to stay on the field in obvious passing situations.
