Bagent has become a pretty ideal number two. He knows the offense, plays quickly and has enough athleticism to keep the bootleg and movement pieces alive if Williams misses time. His four-start rookie stretch was uneven—three touchdowns and six interceptions overall—but it also proved the game is not too big for him. The extension through 2027 says the staff trusts the progress. He is a six for me: a credible spot starter, not somebody you want carrying a season.
Strengths: His biggest strengths are decisiveness, short-area accuracy and composure. Bagent gets through defined reads on time, can move the chains with his legs and has handled backup duties without disrupting the weekly operation.
Weaknesses: He lacks elite drive velocity and can invite defenders when he challenges tight outside windows. The six interceptions in his only extended starting sample show that full-field processing and late-down decision-making remain below established-starter level.
