Kilgore is a young safety who has always found the football, and he immediately carried that instinct into camp. Nickel flexibility and return experience give him several ways to help early.
Strengths: Ball skills, college production, nickel flexibility, special-teams experience and leadership.
Weaknesses: Rookie processing in a complex NFL defense and stiff competition for safety snaps.

Kilgore has done the right early things: make the roster, bring a physical 6-foot-1 frame and show up around the football in camp with breakups and an interception. That does not make him a finished NFL safety yet, but it gives Buffalo something to develop. A five is a sensible rookie grade. His immediate route to snaps is special teams and assignment consistency while he learns a deep safety room.
Strengths: He has good size, a physical mindset and early evidence of ball skills in practice. Kilgore's willingness to contribute wherever asked should translate well to special teams and developmental safety work.
Weaknesses: He has no NFL regular-season tape and is competing in a crowded position group. Coverage communication, route recognition and tackling angles against pro speed still need to be proven.
