Dominick Puni Scouting Report (2)
Puni has been one of the better offensive-line finds this team has made in a while. He stepped in as a rookie, started all 17 games, then did it again in 2025. That kind of dependability is a big deal on a line that has dealt with plenty of moving parts. He is athletic enough for the outside-zone stuff, but he is not just a finesse guard—he can sit down against power and create movement in the run game too. There are still reps where an experienced rusher can get him leaning and beat him with the counter, but the overall direction is really encouraging. I have him at a seven, and he has a chance to move higher.
Strengths: Puni plays with good balance for a tall guard and rarely looks overwhelmed by the speed of the game. He can reach, pull and climb in the run game, while his length helps him recover in pass protection. Starting 34 straight games also says a lot about both his durability and the trust the coaching staff has in him.
Weaknesses: Veteran interior rushers can still set him up when his weight drifts too far forward, especially after showing power early in the game. He can also be a little high at contact, which gives shorter defenders a leverage opening. Cleaning up those counters is the next step from good young starter to one of the better guards in the conference.
