Hobbs is a physical slot corner who can help this defense if he stays healthy. He has 43 career starts, tackles like a safety and has shown he can blitz and play through traffic. Last season was not his best: 11 games, five starts, 27 tackles and only two pass breakups in Green Bay. I have him at a six because the earlier Raiders tape was legitimately good, but the 49ers are betting on a rebound. His body has taken a beating in the slot, and he needs to show the quickness is still there against shifty receivers.
Strengths: Hobbs is an aggressive tackler with extensive slot experience and the versatility to blitz or fit the run. His 308 career tackles show how often he has been involved near the football.
Weaknesses: Availability has been inconsistent, and his 2025 role and ball production both declined. He can be stressed vertically from the slot and must prove he still has the recovery speed to survive isolated coverage.
